After a long search which has lasted most of the summer, Dunc has joined South By Northwest to take on the role of Lead Drummer! We'll soon be arranging lots of new gigs with the new line up very soon. More details about Dunc can be seen on the 'About Us' page.

Come and see us play our last gig with the current band line up at the Lane Ends in Burnley next Saturday, (26th July). Unfortunately real life has got in the way of the band and Cat will be moving away from the Northwest to follow a new career. Cat is a fantastic drummer and will be missed by all in the band, we all wish her the best of luck in the future.

Thanks to everyone who came to Uluru last night. It was our first gig at the venue, and we thought it was one of our best. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces, hopefully we'll see you all again soon.

South By Northwest has a new drummer! Caitlin joined the band last week, and we all know she'll be a fantastic addition to the band. We're all working hard to bring ourselves back up to speed after a frantic summer searching for Mark's replacement. It won't be long before we have plenty of new gigs arranged with the new band line up. More details about Caitlin, and the rest of the band can be found on the About Us page soon.

Last Saturday, Mark, (on drums) handed in his notice with the band :( Unfortunately, it's another case of real life interfering! Mark recently heard his working hours would be changing, which would result in less time for practice and gigs. He has decided rather than hold back the rest of the band, he would bow out now while things are still on a high. We only have one gig in the pipeline at Marigolds, and Mark will be playing there if we don't have a replacement drummer up to speed in time.

Mark has been with the band since day one, and came up with the band name! A BIG thanks to Mark for all his efforts over the past two and a half years, We're all sad to see him go.

We're very hopeful we'll find a replacement drummer soon, but we know it'll be difficult to find a replacement Mark!

Thanks to everyone who came to see us at The Castle. It was the first gig with the new band line up and things went really well. We'll hopefully have some live tracks recorded at the gig on the website soon.

After two years, and being in the band from day one, Simon has decided to call it a day and leave the band and move on to other projects. We all wish him good luck with what he decides to do. The new man on the guitar is Wayne, we're all confident he will fit in well and help to further develop the band. We will be arranging our first gigs with Wayne on guitar for early summer. At long last, we've been able to get into the studio and record some of the songs. It'll take a week or so to finish all the mixing etc, but not long now till we get some samples on the website.

A couple of great gigs completed recently at The Railway and Marigolds. Read a review of the Marigolds gig taken from NorthwestBands. Just finished our first gig at Marigolds. The place was crammed full and the crowd were fantastic, especially all the dancers at the front! We'll hopefully see you all again there soon.

Jackie has unfortunatly had to leave the band due to real life commitments taking over! Our thanks to Jackie for getting the band to the stage it's at today. Leanne has joined South By Northwest as the new vocalist. Take a look at the gig list to find out when you can see and hear the new line up!

We've been busy putting the finishing touches on to a number of new songs and are ready to start gigging again, more gig dates will be added soon. We're also planning to record a demo CD in the near future, as well test out our new sound system.
